The flagship department of DDCNS, focusing on the clinical and therapeutic practice of African traditional medicine. Students learn diagnosis, treatment, patient consultation, and holistic care using African herbal traditions.
This department prepares practitioners to provide effective traditional healthcare for conditions including fibroids, prostate disorders, arthritis, erectile dysfunction, and other prevalent ailments using validated African remedies.
Training combines classroom instruction, clinical observation, field practicum, and supervised patient consultations. Graduates are eligible for MTMPN licensing.

Herbal Product Manufacturing
This department trains students in the science and technology of manufacturing quality herbal medicines and nutritional supplements that meet NAFDAC standards. Students learn formulation chemistry, quality control, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and packaging regulations.
The curriculum draws from DDCNS's own heritage of NAFDAC-registered formulations, including the David Balm product line, giving students direct exposure to proven commercial products.
Graduates can establish their own manufacturing businesses, work with existing herbal companies, or proceed to NAFDAC-product registration consultancy.

The department is central to DDCNS's vision of establishing dedicated herbal farms for the continuous availability of raw materials — ensuring quality and sustainability in traditional medicine production.

General Studies
The Department of General Studies provides the foundational academic skills every DDCNS student needs to succeed across all programmes. It covers English communication, research methodology, computer literacy, mathematics for business, civic education, and entrepreneurship basics.
All new students are required to take core General Studies modules as part of their induction into the DDCNS academic environment. These courses ensure every graduate possesses both specialist traditional medicine knowledge and the professional communication and business skills needed to thrive.
This department also coordinates the annual induction ceremony, student welfare, and the DDCNS public enlightenment seminar series.
